A Brief History of St. Paul’s Quasi Parish, Tyoga
What is today called St. Paul’s Quasi Parish, Tyoga started on 6th December, 1992. It was known as St. Paul’s Catholic Church Mena under Revd. Fr. Peter Kparev as parish priest of St. Anthony’s Parish, Zaki-Biam, assisted by Revd. Fr. Stephen Suega. On that same date the first service which took place at Elder Ugbegh Indyer’s premises had 9 children and 3 adults in attendance.
On 4th of May, 1994 St. Paul’s Tyoga was commissioned as a church by Revd. Fr. Stephen Suega, the Assistant Parish Priest of Anthony’s Parish, Zaki-Biam. On 28th April, 2009 St. Paul’s Tyoga was made a zone by Fr. Michael Bull with the following outstations: Manger, Ingbain, Abali, Masev, Yange, Tyoga (centre).
Following the creation of Katsina-Ala Diocese and her expansion, St. Paul’s Tyoga was created as a Qausi parish on 12th April, 2013 by His Excellency Most Revd. Peter I. Adoboh.
