            A Brief History of St. John the Baptist’s Quasi Parish, Gbise

St. John the Baptist’s Quasi Parish, Gbise was created out of St. Margaret’s Parish Tor-Donga on 12th October, 2012 by His Excellency, Most Revd A.A. Usuh, Catholic bishop of Makurdi Diocese. But it was on 8th December 2012 that Bishop William Avenya said the inaugural Mass of the Quasi Parish.

The Quasi Parish was carved out with eight zones, 46 outstations in a settlement of Mbayongo, Gambe-Ya, Shitile under Katsina-Ala LGA of Benue State.  Rev. Fr. Abraham Alueigba was appointed the first priest of the Quasi Parish.
